"Menehune" Marching Band & Color Guard
Led by Elden Seta, Rhona Barbosa, & Grant Otomo

The Moanalua High School "Menehune" Marching Band & Color Guard is one of the largest marching bands in the state with 240+ members.  Participation in the marching band is voluntary, but students must be enrolled in a Music Department class to be a part of the winds or drumline.  The band has consistently held "superior" ratings in state marching band festivals and competes in all state marching band festivals as well as the Aloha Festivals Aloha Week Parade.  The Marching Band is known for its "extreme precision and discipline" and has been said to be one of the top 10 marching bands in the country by visiting adjudicators.  In 2005, the marching band was hand picked to march in the 2005 Presidential Inauguration, but had to decline due to commitments to the Carnegie Hall Symphony Orchestra trip.

The Marching Band is the most traveled of any organization at the school, having performed in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade twice, the Orange Bowl Parade and the World's Fair in
Knoxville, TN.  The band has also performed extensively abroad in the New Year's Day Parade in London, twice in the Osaka Midosuji Parade, the World Expo '88 in Brisbane, Australia and the International Youth Music Festival in Vienna, Austria.
